started to feel the heat. Soon after Vodafone Essar anounced its plans to launch a series of ultra low-cost handsets bundled with connections, Bharti Airtel had no choice but to follow suit. The No.1 tele-service provider in the country will, from now on, package handsets along with mobile connections at ‘subsidised’ rates. While other players have in the past indulged in bundling offers with handset makers, for Airtel, this will mark the first time at such a deal. And it’s no speculation.
